Direct cause of death was lobar pneumonia. Mr. Depue had been in poor health for the past year although he had continued working until about two months ago. He was taken to the University Hospital at Omaha in the early part of December for treatment and examinations and on December 13th he underwent an operation. He was able to return to his home December 21. OBITUARY William Robert Depue was born at Castana, Ia., August 22, 1896, the son of Mr. and Mrs. M.A. Depue. He came to Cedar county in 1901 and has since made his home in this section of the county. On December 12, 1917, he was married to Ina Grace Harding at Hartington. They started housekeeping on a farm near Dixon, later moving to a farm east of Hartington and eight years ago moved to Wynot where he has since resided. His life has been spent in farming and bridge work. He was a member of the Congregational church of Hartington but since coming to Wynot where he worked with the Methodist congregation. He was president of the Wynot Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the IOOF lodge and the commercial club and was active in baseball, and one time held the office of precinct assessor. Mr. Depue is survived by his wife and three children, Robert, Donald and Lucille. Another daughter, Betty Lou, preceded him in death November 6, 1930. Also his mother, Mrs. Jennie Depue of Hartington, one sister, Mrs. H.B. Forninash, Hartington, two brothers, Jim Depue, Sioux City and Henry Depue of Portland Ore., who is expected to arrive for the funeral. The body was brought from the Jones Funeral home Tuesday afternoon to the home in Wynot and funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at the Methodist church in Wynot at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in the Hartington cemetery. Rev. R.E. Daughtee of Ponca will officiate at the services.
