Dirks COLERIDGE - Lottie G. Dirks, 87, died July 29, 1999 at Parkway Health Care Center, Wheaton, Ill. Visitation was Aug. 1, at the Wintz Funeral Home, Coleridge. Funeral services were Aug. 2, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Coleridge, with Rev. Norm Sulaica officiating. Burial was in Lawn Ridge Cemetery, Coleridge. Pallbearers were Monte Dirks, Tim Dirks, Doug Butcher, Reggie Butcher, Bob Steffen, Tom Steffen, Larry Konken and Claude Mathiason. Lottie was born July 27, 1912, to James and Theda (Janssen) Steffen in Hartington. On Feb. 12, 1934, she married William H. Dirks in Coleridge. He died March 2, 1974. She grew up in Hartington and graduated from Hartington Public School. She lived and farmed in Cedar County until 1963 when she moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa. She then lived in Wheaton, Ill., with her daughter Joyce. The last several years Helen has been a resident of the Parkway Health Care Center in Wheaton. Survivors include a daughter and spouse, Joyce and James Anderson, Wheaton, Ill.; a son and spouse, Donovan and Verneta Dirks, Omaha, five grandchildren and spouses, Denise and Frank Lauer, Douglas and Debra Butcher, Reggie and Susan Butcher and Tim and Monte Dirks; ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and son, Lowell Dirks, three sisters: Minnia Meier, Maria Konken and Theda Mathiason; and two brothers: Tom Steffen and Ernest Steffen.
