Funeral services for Mr. Dresden will be held Saturday morning at 9:30 at Holy Trinity Catholic church here. The Smith-Wintz Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A complete obituary will be printed in next week's News. 2 AUGUST 1962 CEDAR COUNTY NEWS Rites Held for Walt Dresden ---------- Funeral services for Walter H. Dresden, 76, were held Saturday morning at Holy Trinity Catholic church here. Father Raymond G. Auer officiated. Mr. Dresden, a former Cedar county commissioner, died August 2 at his home in Hartington. Survivors include his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Glen (Irene) Bergman of Hartington; three sisters, Mrs. William (Margaret) Hirschman of Coleridge, Mrs. Roman (Lucy) Dreesen of Crofton, and Mrs. Edmund (Loretta) Becker of Hartington, two brothers, Martin of Laurel and William of Hartington and three grandchildren. Walter Henry Dresden was born April 5, 1886, at Danbury, Ia., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dresden. He came to Cedar county at the age of 19. He was married to Minnie Wohlman June 30, 1914. Mr. Dresden served one term as Third District commissioner--from 1947 to 1950. He was a member of District 99 school board for 30 years. Mr. Dresden farmed east of here until moving to Hartington several years ago. Burial was in St. Michael's cemetery under the direction of the Smith-Wintz Funeral Home. Pallbearers were John Feilmeier, Sr., Edward McGregor, Ernest Brodersen, Joe Bergman, Alphonese Peitz and Vern Murray. 8 AUGUST 1962 CEDAR COUNTY NEWS
