She had been in failing health for some time. On Tuesday, 4 October 1904 in the hope that her health might be benefitted, she departed for Anaheim, Ca accompanied by her husband, and her daughters, Kate, Frances and Barbara, and one son Leonard. The remainder of the family staying at home on the farm near St. James. Her remains were sent home for burial accompanied by her children who arrived on Saturday, Nov. 26 and the remains came two days later. The funeral was Monday, Nov. 28 at 2:30 from Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington. The deceased was a loyal and consistent member of the Catholic faith. Mrs. Duman, whose maiden name was Miss Veronica Rieger, was born near Nicktown, Pa 14 Sept. 1854. On July 6, 1875 she was united in the holy bonds of matrimony with George Duman at Nicktown, Pa. A few years later they moved to Cedar County, Nebr. Besides her husband she is survived by the following Children: Annie, wife of Levi Eby of near Hartington, Joseph of St. James, Jacob of Imperial, Calif., Tony, Mary, Benjamin, Katie, Wendel, Frances, Barbara and Leonard at home. Brothers and sisters: Anthony Rieger, of Gorman's Mills, PA, Julius Rieger of Youngstown, OH, Mrs D.E. Davis of Ebensburg, PA, Mrs. L.V. Guye and Mrs. H.J. Swope of Omaha; also half brothers and sisters, Frank Rieger of Carrolltown, PA, Joseph Rieger of Bornsboro, PA, Mrs. Julia Dillon of Hastings, PA, and Casper and John of Carrolltown. Her aged father of Carrolltown, PA who has passed his 80th birthday. Mrs. George Duman was a kind wife, loving mother and a good neighbor and had the respect of all who knew her.
