Durrie LINCOLN - Robert P. Durrie, 78, former resident of Cedar County, died Aug. 4, 1999, in Lincoln, following a lengthy illness. Services were Aug. 6 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Lincoln, with Pastor Carol Horton officiating. Burial was in Lincoln Memorial Park. He was born May 17, 1921, to Harry and Selma Mengshol Durrie in Laurel. He graduated from high school in Norfolk and earned a degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was the retired president of Magee's Clothing of Lincoln where he was employed for 43 years. After retirement from Magee's, he was vice president of Landon's Inc. Realty until suffering a stroke. He was a former chairman and 23-year board member of Bryan Hospital; University of Nebraska Foundation trustee; UNL President's Advisory Council member; elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church; former board member, Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, National Society to Prevent Blindness, Lincoln Community Chest; past president of Lincoln Cosmopolitan Club, member of Lincoln Country Club and Lincoln Rotary No. 14. Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Stephenson; sons, Dr. Daniel Durrie, Mission Hills, Kan. and Dr. Robert "Chip" Durrie Jr., Piemont, N.Y.; and daughter, Mary Lynn Reiser, Omaha: three grandchildren; a brother, Harry, Murphys, Calif.; and a sister, Jeanne (Mrs. Nelson) Wagaman, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
