ANGEL, Ore. - Edgar Fred Fischer, 83, Mt. Angel, Ore. died Feb. 5, 2000. A funeral mass was held Feb. 8 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mt. Angel, Ore. Burial was held at Calvary Cemetery, Mt. Angel. Edgar Was born Aug. 16, 1911 in Hartington. He married Rose Sept. 16, 1941, in Menominee. They lived in Hartington where he was a farmer of diversified grain crops. They moved to Mt. Angel in 1955. He was the owner and operator of a couple of service stations in Salem before he become owner and operator/ mechanic of the Monitor Garage, Monitor, Ore., in 1964 until his retirement in 1980. The family moved to Monitor in 1974. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic, Church. He belonged to the Monitor Volunteer Fire Dept. for 30 years. He was also a memher of the Catholic Order of Foresters. He was an avid fishermen, hunter and woodworker. Survivors include his wife, Rose; sons, Leon Fischer, Salem, Ore., and Randy Fischer, Silverton, Ore.; daughters, Annette Brier, Mt. Angel, Ore.; Mary Kay Bielemeier, Hood River, Ore., and Maureen Schmidt, Silverton, Ore.; a sister, Irene Schaefer, Gregory, S.D.; a brother, Richard Fischer, Kansas; 10 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren.
