GREGG Rex G. Gregg, 63, of Newcastle, died Thursday, March 5, 1992 at the Veterans Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 10, 1992 at the Wintz Funeral Home Hartington with Rev. Paul Reimers officiating. Visitation and a prayers service were held Sunday, March 8, at the Wintz Funeral home, Hartington with Rev. Robert Neu officiating. Burial was in the Wynot City Cemetery with Wynot American Legion Post #31 conduction the military service. Pallbearers were Lyle Wendte, Mike Gregg, Gene Bennett, Mark Gregg, Lloyd Olander, Wendell Hansen, Barry Bennett, and Sam Bender. Mr. Gregg was born April 26, 1928 to Samuel J. and Myrtle Gray Gregg at Wynot. He was married to Shirley D. Albrecht from 1952 - 1967. He grew up in Wynot and lived in the Hartington, Ponca, and Newcastle areas. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Mr. Gregg operated a grader for the Cedar County Roads department and was a law enforcement officer in Newcastle. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Connie) Sazama of Bloomfield. Mrs. Tim (Sherry) Miller, Estherville, Iowa, Mrs. Lenny (Cindy) Koupel of Yankton. Three brothers, DeRoy of Ponca, Jesse Jr. and Merle of Seattle, Wash., four sisters, Mrs. Donald (Sylvia) Nelson, Maskell, Mrs. Rex (Darlene) Ritter of Lincoln, Mrs. Gene (Myrtle) Sieck of Ohio, Mrs. Mike (June) Foley of Omaha and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Wayne, Willard, Eldon, DeLoy and an infant.
