Funeral services were March 6, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Menominee, with the Rev. Greg Benkowski officiating. Burial was held in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Rick Pesek, Jason Haberman, Tim Potts, Jerad Haberman, Shannon Herrboldt, Josh Haberman, Tommy Sedlacek Jr., Mike Fleer and Riley Haberman. Leona was born Nov. 21, 1916, in Menominee, to Hubert and Elizabeth (Hoebelheinrich) Hoesing. She married Alfred J. Haberman August 18, 1936, in Menominee. She lived in the Menominee area all of her life and helped her husband farm. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and the Ladies Guild. She is survived by seven children and their spouses, Mardell and Alan Fleer, Houston, Texas; Mary Haberman, Menominee; Karen and Claude Sudbeck, Hartington; Duane and Sara Haberman, Menominee; Kathleen and Tom Sedlacek Sr., Tabor, S.D.; Bernice and Brad Lubbers, Omaha; and Keith Haberman, Menominee; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Verna Schmidt, Crofton; Marian Heine, St. Helena; and Kathleen Bruening, Yankton, S.D.; and two brothers, Dellano Hoesing, Menominee; and Arland Hoesing, Loveland, Colo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Haberman Sr.; one son, Alfred Haberman Jr., one ddaughter, Janet Lubbers; one sister, Del Ray, and one infant brother, Donavon.
