Hoebelheinrich YANKTON, S.D.- Rosann Catherine Hoebelheinrich, 99, Yankton, S.D., died Feb. 22, 2000 at Avera Sister James Nursing Home, Yankton. Visitation was Feb. 24 at the Kostel Funeral Home, Yankton. Mass of Christian Burial was held Feb. 25 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Helena, with Rev. Greg Benkowski officiating. Burial was held at Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery, St. Helena. Pallbearers were Joel Dendinger, Jeff Pick, Brian Foxhoven, Randy Schmidt, Paul Hoebelheinrich and Mike Rasmussen. Honorary pallbearers were Ted Pick, Arthur Foxhoven, Virgil Schmidt, Dorothea Hoebelheinrich and Cordell Rasmussen. Rosann was born June 28, 1900, to Joseph A. and Josephine (Becker) Suing on the family farm near St. Helena. She attended grade school at District #4, St. Helena high school at St. Catherine Academy, Jackson; and college at Yankton College, Yankton. She married Herman Hoebelheinrich June 14, 1927, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Helena. She was a school teacher In District #57, St. Helena, for two years, Menominee for two years, Pierce for one year and Utica, S.D., for two years. She worked at Sacred Heart Hospital for about five years before she retired in 1963. She was a member of the Legion of Mary, Yankton Senior Citiens, and St. Mary's Altar Society in St. Helena. Rosann's first love was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She shared with them her love of games, her zest for learning and the joy that is found in the simple things in life. She enjoyed gardening, reading, watching birds and giving hugs. She is survived by four daughters, Irma (Ted) Pick Canton, S.D.; Dolores (Arthur) Foxhoven, Crofton; Madonna (Virgil) Schmidt, Menominee; and Diane (Cordell) Rasmussen, Yankton, S.D.; one son, Richard (Dorothea) Hoebelheinrich, Yankton, S.D.; three sisters, Mary Hochstein, Fordyce; Felicitas Schmidt, St. Helena; and Lavina Kramer, Hastings; one brother, Erwin Suing, St. Helena; 29 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter and son-in-law, Anita (Alphonse) Dendinger, one infant son, Herman; two grandchildren, three brothers and three sisters.
