Hopkins, 89, died March 27, 1999, at Marian Health Center, Sioux City, Iowa. Services were March 30 at Niobrara Lutheran Church, Niobrara, with Rev. Mark Liscom officiating. Pallbearers were Jerry Sedivy, David Sedivy, Warren Sedivy, Shelley Sedivy, Glenn Sedivy and Mark Sedivy. Lydia Ann Hopkins, daughter of John and Philomena (Maset) Smole was born October 16, 1909, at Verdigre. She attended Verdigre school and was married to Walter Sedivy June 10, 1930, at Verdigre. They lived at Verdel, Verdigre and later Niobrara. Her husband died. April 19, 1959, and she married Hollie Hopkins in 1962. He died in 1989. For the past eight years she was a resident of the Hartington Nursing Center, Hartington. Survivors include three sons, and their spouses, Elmer and Doris Sedivy, Walthill; John and Peggy Sedivy, Danville, Pa.; and Gary and Karen Sedivy, Vermillion, S.D.; a daughter, Julia Ann Higgens,Rock Port, Texas; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; two brothers, John and Albert; a sister, Minnie Prochaska, and one grandson.
