JONES FUNERAL YOUNG WYNOT WOMAN IS BURIED FRIDAY- FUNERAL AT METHODIST CHURCH Wynot - a host of relatives and friends filled the Methodist church to capacity Friday afternoon in a final tribute of respect and affection at funeral services held for Mrs. Lloyd Jones, 42, who passed away last Tuesday evening at Sacred Heart Hospital at Yankton following an operation performed Tuesday morning for a stomach ailment. Rev. R.I. Falk, Lutheran pastor officiated at the services and also sang two solos. He and Mrs. Falk sang two duets. Burial was in the Wynot cemetery under the direction of the Jones Funeral home. Pallbearers were Elmer Keegan, George Bowder, John Jones, Edward Jones, Joe Jones and Ralph Jones. Although always cheerful and uncomplaining, Mrs. Jones had been suffering from a stomach ailment for some time and on Friday before Christmas she was taken to the Yankton hospital for examinations and observation. On Tuesday morning she underwent an operation and apprarently was getting along very well, until late afternoon when she took a turn for the worse. Her death, which occured the day before her twenty-third wedding anniversary was a shock to the entire community. OBITUARY Laura Barbara Smith was born August 21, 1896 at Sargent Bluffs Ia., the daughter of Mr.and Mrs. Henry Smith. She came to this vicinity with her parents in 1907 and attended the Wynot school. She was a member of the first graduating class of the Wynot High School in 1914. On December 28, 1915 she was married to Lloyd Jones and continued to reside in this community until her death. She was active in the work of the Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid. Mrs. Jone is survived by her husband, three daughters and one son., Dorothy who teaches the school in Dist. 1, Ardis, Betty and Daryl. Also her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Smith and one brother, Hartlee of Hartington, and one sister Mrs. Charles Millie of Fordyce. Among relatives from a distance attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Roe of council Bluffs, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. Orville Jones, Mrs. Jake Snyder, Harold and Thelma Jones, Mrs. Clarence Allen and Mrs. Carl Lange, all of Sioux City, Roy Grouse of Hornick, Ia., Edith Jones of Springfield, Il, Velma Jones of Jackson, Mn., and many friends from Hartington, Ponca, Fordyce and other towns.
