Jones and leaves a family W.C. Jones of Wynot, Nebr., was asphyxiated Sunday morning at the New Mondamin Hotel, 3rd and Douglas streets. He was about 40 years old. Coroner Garver, after viewing the body, declared that the death was accidental. Jones arrived at the hotel Saturday night and said that he was on his way home from a trip to Montana. During the evening he tried to communicate with his relatives by telephone; he wasn't successful. He went out, but returned about 1:00 a.m., and asked for a room. Sunday morning, Charles Ford, manager of the hotel, in passing through the halls smelled gas and upon making an investigation found the jet was open and the windows down. The man had been dead several hours when found. He leaves a widow, several children, and two brothers.
