Kohles, 81, Crofton, died at Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton, S.D. Funeral services were Oct. 21, 1998, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Crofton, with Rev. Leonard Kinkel officiating. Burial was in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Crofton. Pallbearers were Jim Kohles, Rus Dendinger, Chad Dendinger, David Schmacher, Collin Kollars and Larry Lollars. Honorary pallbearers were Ed Hesse, Bernard Ausdemore, George Ausdemore, Al Hepp, John Tramp, and George Steffen. Lawrence was born Feb. 22, 1917, to Paul J. and Mary (Hendricks) Kohles, in Crofton. He married Glondale Kollars Aug. 16, 1938, in Crofton. She died April 12, 1994. Lawrence grew up in Crofton and graduated from Crofton High School. After his marriage, he and his wife moved to the state of Washington. They moved back to Bellevue and in 1945 they moved to Crofton where he farmed. They spent their winters in Casa Grande, Ariz. Lawrence married Betty Maguire June 10, 1995 in Denver, Colo. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Crofton; and a charter member of the Lakeview Golf Course, Crofton. Survivors include his wife Betty, Crofton; four children and their spouses, Jane and Tony Dendinger, Hartington; Guy and Bonnie Kohles, Crofton; Debbie and Bob McKinster, Phoenix, Ariz.; and Kevin and Mary Kohles, Crofton; five step-daughters and their spouses, Katherine Dimont, Denver, Colo.; Eileen and Joseph Ledesma, Denver, Colo.; Jean Maguire and Leroy Crotts, Denver, Colo.; Maureen and Howard Holt, Denver, Colo.; and Christine and Mark Marcantonio, Forest Grove, Ore.; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Bernard (Lorene) Ausdemore, Crofton; and Mrs Darlo (Irene) Kollars, Casa Grande, Ariz.
