Lofgren SIOUX CITY, Iowa - Ronald "Ron' K. Lofgren, 69, Sioux City, Iowa, died Aug. 15, 1999, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness. Services were Aug. 18 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Sioux City, with the Rev. Nathan C. Houfek officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, with a flag presentation conducted by American Legion Cownie-Church Post 307. Mr. Lofgren was born April 61 1930, to F.M. 'Bud" and Violet M. (Stolpe) Lofgren in Obert. He was raised in Obert and graduated from Hartington High School in 1947. He farmed with his father and was employed with John Deere Implement in Hartington. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War. He married Kathy Kelley Jan. 20, 1979, in Sioux City. He was employed with Burroughs Corp. for 35 years as a service technician and retired as a service manager of the Sioux City branch in 1989. He was employed part-time with the 1990 Census Bureau and for Indian Hills Coast to Coast. He also volunteered at the Sioux City Museum. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Siouxland Senior Center, American Legion Cownie-Church Post 307 and a charter member of Siouxland Ski Club. The couple were members of Siouxland Foster Parents Association for five years. He was a Nebraska Huskers fan. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Christian, Mount Pleasant, Iowa, and Andrew, at home; a daughter, Jennifer Lofgren, Sioux City; a grandson; two sisters and their husbands, Jean and Jack Sorensen, Enumclaw, Wash., and Linda and Sylvan Olsen, Coleridge; his step-mother, Gladys Lofgren, Coleridge, and five nephews.
