Loftis CENTRAL CITY- Warren H. Loftis, 78, Central City, died at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital, Central City, March 19, 1999. Services were March 24 at the Chapel of Solt Funeral Home, Central City, with Scott Butcher officiating. Burial was in Hartington Cemetery, Hartington. Pallbearers were Howard Hubka, Ron Krueger, Bernhard Pieko, Lennie Everson, Ron Kennedy and Don Sautter. Mr. Loftis was born June 28, 1920, to Jonathan F. "Frank" and Clara (Sommers) Loftis in Coleridge. He attended Mayflower County School near Coleridge. Mr. Loftis farmed near Coleridge as a young man. He then joined the US Army and served stateside during WWII. He married Leanna I. Konken June 4, 1951. in Coleridge. They lived in Bloomfield where he worked construction and in Atkinson for six years where Mr. Loftis was a welder. In 1969, they moved to Central City. He worked for Bill's Volume and Central Scale as a welder. He also worked at the Westgate Station. He retired in 1995 due to his health. Survivors include his former wife, Leanna Loftis, Central City; two sons, Darrell, Central City, and Neal, Angwin, Calif.; and one daughter, Karen and her husband, Scott Butcher, Marquette; twin brother, Bill, and his wife, Helen Loftis, Lebanon, Ore.; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; twin infant sons; one grandson; and three brothers, Leonard, Merle and Forrest. Wednesday, March 24, 1999- CEDAR COUNTY NEWS
