"Ann" McGregor HARTINGTON- Anna M. "Ann" McGregor, 95, formerly of Hartington, died Dec. 8, 1999, at the Heritage of Bel Aire Nursing Home, Norfolk. Visitation was Dec. 10 at the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington. Mass of Christian Burial was Dec. 11 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington, with Monsignor Cyril Werner officiating. Burial was in St. Michael's Cemetery, Hartington. Pallbearers were Rollie Becker, Jamie Becker, Kyle Becker, Steve Pick, Douglas Pick and Dan Pick. Ann was born Oct. 18, 1904, to Peter and Barbara (Reiner) Augenstein in Hungary. She married Archie L. McGregor Dec. 30, 1926, in Yankton, S.D. He died July 20, 1973. Her family came to the St. Louis area when she was six month's old. As a young girl, they moved to the Hartington area where she graduated from Holy Trinity High School. She taught rural school and worked at the Cedar County News. She and her husband farmed east of Hartington until his death in 1973. She then moved into Hartington until moving to Norfolk in 1992. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and Guild and the Christian Mothers. Anna loved to embroider, crochet and play cards. Survivors include three daughters, Norma and John McCarthy, Norfolk; Marguerite and Ken Kisner, Omaha; and Marilyn and Gus Pick, Hartington: nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, four sisters and two grandsons.
