Gordon was born in 1924 in Fordyce. He served on the USS Nancy in the War of the Pacific. He helped to build the freeway system, the Arabian pipeline and retired from Metropolitan Stevedore after 32 years. He was a life member of the Long Beach Sportsman Club and a Mason, Long Beach Lodge #327, for 40 years. Survivors include his wife, Reva; two sons, Eric and Nicholas (Debbie); two daughters, Rhonda and Debra (Buddy) and six grandchildren: Kelli, Michelle, Anthony, Jennifer, Monica, and Allison. He was a first cousin to Leonard Meirose, Las Vegas, Nev.; Harold Tramp, Fordyce; Gerry Meirose, Hartington; and Rita Donner, Omaha.
