Services were Aug. 5, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Menominee, with Msgr. Cyril J. Werner officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Allan Mueller, Dean Mueller, Jim Mueller, John Mueller, Marty Schulte and Robert Schulte. Elizabeth was born Feb. 16, 1907, to John and Martha (Albrecht) Mueller in a log house three miles northeast of Menominee. The log house was the home of her paternal grandparents, John and Mary Elizabeth (Loecker) Mueller, who died in 1909 and 1912 respectively. In 1913, the big, white house on the 'home place" was completed, and Elizabeth moved there with the rest of the family. She lived there the rest of her life. In 1916, Elizabeth made her First Holy Communion with the very first Communion Class of St. Boniface Catholic Church. Rev. Hurt was pastor. She attended grade school, at District 112 (River View), which was about a quarter of a mile from home, and graduated from the eighth grade May 1921. After her mother died in 1928, Elizabeth, as the eldest sibling, became a surrogate mother to her nine remaining brothers and sisters. The children helped their father run the farm, raise chickens and take care of the home until he passed away in 1965. After their father's death, Elizabeth, her brother, Henry, and her sister, Laurine, ran the farm, along with the help of her other brother John and his sons, Allan and John A. Mueller. She was a life long member of St. Boniface Parish and a member of the St. Boniface Ladies Guild for many years. From 1963 to 1965, she served as president pro tem of the St. Boniface Ladies Guild. Elizabeth is survived by her four sisters, Laurine and Rose Mueller, Yankton, S.D.; Esther (Cyril) Schulte, Springfield, S.D.; and Cleopha (John) Schulte, Downey, Calif.; 27 nieces and nephews; 57 great-nieces and nephews; and 16 great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, two sisters, four nephews, one niece and one great-great-nephew. Memorials may be directed to the St. Boniface Parish Cemetery Fund.
