Visitation was Feb. 14 at Kostel Funeral Home, Yankton. Funeral services were Feb. 15 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Menominee, with Rev. Greg Benkowski officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Allan Mueller, Dean Mueller, Jim Mueller, John Mueller, Marty Schulte and Robert Schulte. Laurine was born Aug. 29, 1910, to John and Martha (Albrecht) Mueller in a log house three miles northeast of Menominee. Rev. Zeruth Teves baptized Laurine, baptized Laura Anna, at St. Boniface Church, Sept 7, 1910. Her First Holy Communion was made June 6, 1920, at St. Boniface with Pastor Jos. Johnen. She attended grade school at District 112, River View, about a quarter mile from home, graduating from the eighth grade in 1926. She continued with school for two more years, until May 1928. During her school years, Laurine received many awards for perfect attendance, penmanship and spelling. After her mother died in March 1928, Laurine stayed at home to help her father raise and care for the remaining family members, the family farm and chicken hatchery. After her father died in 1965, Laurine, along with her elder sister and brother, continued with the farm partnernship. She often baby sat for many of her nieces and nephews. For years, she enjoyed the "Your Neighbor Lady" radio program, as well as weekly the music program of Lawrence Welk. Laurine moved to Avera Sister James Nursing Home June 10, 1996, where she resided until her death. Laurine is survived by two sisters, Esther (Cyril) Schulte, Springfield, S.D. and Cleopha (John) Schulte, Downey, Calif.; 27 nieces and nephews; 57 great-nieces and nephews; and 17 great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, four sisters, four nephews, one niece and one great-great nephew.
