Richard Pedersen, 21-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Niels Pedersen of Hartington, who was killed in action in Korea July 14 [1953]. Rev. O.L. Levorson will officiate at the last rites and burial will be in the Hartington city cemetery. Pfc. Pedersen's body arrived in the states this past week and was to arrive in Yankton today (Thursday). Smith Funeral Home will have charge of the arrangements. Young Pedersen, who had been in the army since November 6, 1952 and who had been overseas since last April, was killed shortly before the military armistice was signed in Korea. He was born on a farm near Hartington May 10, 1932 and attended school here. Besides his parents, he is survived by four brothers, Gunmar of Beatrice; and Lloyd, Gerald and Marvin of Hartington, and one sister, Doris, of Hartington.
