Pick Jr. HARTINGTON - William H. "Bill" Pick Jr., died June 8, 1999, at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton, S.D. Visitation was June 11, at the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington. Mass of Christian Burial was June 12, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington, with Rev. Stan Schmidt officiating. Burial was in the St. Michael's Cemetery, Hartington. Pallbearers were Wendy Pick, Brandy Pick, Misty Pick, Nicole Pick, Selena Pick, Dawn Franklin, Sonia Mitchell, Mandy Spiering, Christy Anderson, Amy Kuchta, and Ann Kuchta. Honorary pallbearers were Vincent Dreesen, Ervin Noecker, Tony Keiter, Dennis DeBlauw, Wayne Schrempp and Clarence Kohls. Bill was born May 9, 1920, to William Henry and Agatha M. (Berg) Pick Sr. in Hartington. He married Wilma C. Lammers, August 27, 1941, in Constance. She died July 10, 1988. He grew up in the Hartington area and lived and farmed Northwest of Hartington all of his life. He was the former owner and operator of the Pop's Cafe. Bill was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, a former Cedar County Fair Board member and State Fair Board member, West Star 4-H leader and board member, former ARC board member. and former member and president of the Livestock Feeders Association. He and his wife also hosted an international foriegn exchange student. Survivors include six children and their spouses, David and Marlene Pick, Coleridge: Roger and Jeanine Pick, Audubon, Iowa; Barbara Pick, Hartington; Marcia and Brent Bond, Longmont, Colo.; Betty and Gary Kuchta, Hartington; and Joan and Steve Buntemeyer, Lincoln; 11 grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren; two sisters: Emma Hirschman, Coleridge; Mrs. George (Monica) Schaad, Lakewood, Colo.; four brothers, Alfred Pick, Norfolk; Raymond Pick, Hartington; Herbert Pick, Norfolk; and George "Gus" Pick, Hartington. He was preceeded in death by his parents; wife; three children, Billy, Carol Jean and Catherine Pick; a grand-daughter, Carrie Pick; and a sister, Leona Allen.
