This file was contributed for use in the NEGenWeb Archives by Carol Tramp Permission granted by: Rob Dump, Editor, Cedar County News ====================================================================== CEDAR COUNTY NEWS MAY 26, 1938 HENRY REUTER DIES FOLLOWING STROKE 58 YEAR OLD CARPENTER IS BURIED AT BOW VALLEY ON MONDAY Henry William Reuter, 58, well known Hartington carpenter succumbed Friday afternoon at 4:15 o'clock five days after he had suffered a paralytic stroke while visiting at the Henry Boland home Sunday evening, May 15. Complicatons set in a day before his death which had been expected after he suffered the stroke. Funeral services for the Hartington bachelor were conducted at Holy Trinity church Monday May 23, at 9:15 o'clock with Rev. A Van Veen officiating. Pallbearers were Casper Promes, Albert Thoene, and John Frigge of Bow Valley and Robert Roskopf, Frank Schaeffer and George Walz of Hartington. Burial was in the Bow Valley Cemetery. Mr. Reuter was born May 11, 1880 on a Bow Valley Farm, the son of Joseph and Louise Reuter. He was one of a family of 12 children, six of whom are living. Mr. Reuter lived in Bow Valley until 16 years ago when he came to Hartington and has lived here ever since, most of the time with the Joe Boland family. Survivors include two sisters and four brothers, Mrs. Henry Boland, Mrs. Joe Boland, William Reuter and Casper Reuter all of Hartington, George Reuter of Bow Valley, and Joseph Reuter, Jr. of Brookings, SD.
