Salvatori YANKTON, S.D.- Theresa M. Salvatori, 95, Yankton, S.D., died Dec. 28, 1999, at the Yankton Care Center, Yankton. Visitation was Dec. 30 at Kostel Funeral Home, Yankton. Funeral services were Dec. 31 at Benedict Catholic Church, Yankton, with Rev. Rodney Farke, Rev. Matthew Eickhoff, Rev. Jeffrey Eickhoff, and Rev. Mr. Clarence Jansen officiating. Burial was held at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Yankton. Pallbearers were Kate Sullivan, Linda Kruasse, Steve Jansen, Mary Parish, Mike Stratman, Tim Salvatori and Frank Becvar. Theresa was born May 14, 1904, to Henry and Elizabeth (Holstein) Schroeder on the family farm in rural Menominee. She grew up in the Menominee area, attending grade school until eighth grade. She lived on the family farm and worked for several area families during the summer as a nanny. She married Charles Salvatori May 26, 1931, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Menominee. They lived in Yankton until 1943 and then farmed on the family farm in Menominee until 1954. They moved back to Yankton in 1954. She was the head cook in the kitchen at Sacred Heart Hospital for thirty years, retiring in 1984. She was a past Grand Regent of the Catholic Daughters of America, a past president of the Royal Neighbors of America, the treasurer of the National Society of Catholic Foresters, a past president of the Army Relief Corps, a past president of the Madonna Circle, and a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. She is survived by five daughters, Geraldine (Xavier) Becker, Hillsboro, Ore.; Angela (Clarence) Jansen, Menominee; Theresa Stratman, Yankton, S.D.; Joan (Larry) Eickhoff, Omaha; Karen (Lawrence) Becvar, North Platte, one son, Raymond (Jean) Salvatori, Yankton, S.D.; one daughter-in law, Joyce Salvatori, Omaha; 46 grandchildren; 81 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandsons; and one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Schroeder, Yankton, S.D. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son, one infant daughter, two grandchildren, one son-in-law, four brothers and three sisters.
