G.N. STEINHOFF PIONEER OF THE COUNTY PASSES AWAY AT ST. HELENA Mrs. G.N. Steinhoff, one of the first five settlers to come from Iowa and settle at St. Helena passed away at her home there early Christmas morning, following a long illness from Bright's Disease. She had been a resident of Cedar county for about fifty years, and was 64 years old at the time of her death. For almost five years, Mrs. Steinfoff had been a sufferer from the disease which caused her death and for the past three or four months she had been confined to her bed. She was a patient sufferer, however. Mrs. Steinhoff was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Franz Wieseler, and was born at Petersburg, Delaware county, Iowa on July 4, 1858. She was married at Yankton about 42 years ago to G.N. Steinhoff. Four children survive her, they being Mrs. Anna Hausman, H.B. Steinhoff, Gertrude and Caroline all of St. Helena. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Louis Forester, of Hartington, and four brothers, John, Frank, Barney and Joseph Wieseler. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10:00 o'clock at Immaculate Conception Church in St. Helena, Rev. Strathman being in charge. Interment was in the St. Helena Cemetery.
