Stevens, 93, died April 17, 2000, at Sister James Nursing Home, Yankton, S.D. Visitation was April 18, 2000, at the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington. Mass of Christian Burial was April 29, 2000, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington, with Rev. William Sanderson officiating. Burial was in St. Michael's Cemetery, Hartington. Pallbearers were Michael Hochstein, Robert Petsche, Thomas Petsche, William Petsche, Paul Stevens and James Stevens. Agnes was born March 2, 1906, to Henry and Margaret (Eickhoff) Stevens, at Hartington. She attended Sts. Peter and Paul School in Bow Valley. She worked in several Hartington business places, primarily the People's Grocery Store. She worked for the Bank of Hartington from 1944 to 1976 and continued working part-time for several years after that. She was a resident of Sister James Nursing Home, Yankton, S.D. since June 2, 1996. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America for over 71 years and the Legion of Mary. Survivors include three sisters, Ruth C. Stevens, Hartington, Irene Spratt, Aurora, Colo.; Sister Denise Stevens O.S.B., Yankton, S.D.; one brother, Walter B, Stevens, Fort Dodge, Iowa: and many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.
