He would have been 88 years of age the 25th of this month. For the past two years he has been making his home with relatives at Ponca. William Sullivan was born March 25, 1855 at Milwaukee, Wis. As a young man he worked on a farm in Minnesota, later coming to Dixon county, Neb., where he continued farming. He married Miss Clara Curry at Ponca March 29, 1883. They farmed between Ponca and Newcastle for many years. After retiring from the farm they lived in Newcastle and later moved to Wynot where their son and family lived at that time. Mrs. Sullivan died July 3, 1936 and the only son, P.A. Sullivan died in August 1940. There are two granddaughters, Mrs. Phyllis Gilgen, who teaches music in the Minden, NE schools, and Mrs. Miriam Hartford of Sansatito, Calif. Funeral services were held in Ponca, February 18, with Rev. Wm. Weber, Lutheran Pastor, officiating.
