Ulrich, 74, died Dec. 2, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton, S.D. Services were Dec. 5 at Faith Lutheran Church, Maskell, with Rev. Ted Youngerman officiating. Burial was held at Wynot City Cemetery, Wynot. Pallbearers were Duane Bair, Jim Hans, Bill Bonertz, Roger Koch, Jim Lewon and Jerome Promes. Honorary Pallbearers were the Wynot American Legion Auxiliary. Marian was born Sept. 7, 1924, to Carsten C. and Frieda (Harrus) Petersen in Wayne. She married Walter Henry Ulrich, Sr. July 26, 1947, in Wayne. He died July 16, 1988. Marian grew up in Wayne County and continued to live there until moving to the Wynot area in 1973. She and her husband moved into Wynot in 1982. Marian belonged to the Faith Lutheran Church, Maskell, and the Wynot American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include one son, Walter H. Ulrich, Hartington; two sisters, Bernice Benes, Valparaiso, and Elaine Shade, Lincoln; one brother, Merlin Petersen, Elmwood; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Victor Petersen and Frank Petersen, and two sisters, Leona Ulrich and Norma Dennis.
