This file was contributed for use in the NEGenWeb Archives by Carol Tramp Permission granted by: Rob Dump, Editor, Cedar County News ====================================================================== Mrs. Warnock Rites Are Held Burial at Wynot on Saturday Afternoon Wynot - Funeral services for Mrs. Jennie Warnock, 68, who died April 19, 1949 after an illness of several months, were held from the Methodist Church in Wynot Saturday afternoon with Rev. Robert Strobel of Yankton officiating. Two young women from Yankton furnished the music. Burial was made in the Wynot cemetery under the directon of the Jones Smith Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Charles Newman, William Schaller, Edward Jones, John Jones, George Bowder, and Lyle Olson all of Wynot. Jennie Ellen, daughter of William and Mary Smith was born May 15, 1879 in Union County, SD. She was married to Bert Williams and to this union two children were born, Madge, now Mrs. Fred Ritter and Walther who was killed in a truck accident six years ago. Following the death of her first husband she was married to James Warnock October 25, 1905. They came to Cedar County in 1919. Mrs. Warnock came to Nebraska as a child and spent almost all her life here except for a few years in Stanley County, SD. She was a member of the Wynot Methodist Church. Mr. Warnock died June 27, 1943. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Fred (Madge) Ritter of Rosewell, NM; five step-children, Guy Warnock of Yankton, Mrs. Everett (Iva) Trower of St. Louis, MO., Mrs. Louis (Virgie) Reese of Madison, Errol Warnock of Sioux City and Mrs. Ben Heil of Hartington. Two sisters, Mrs. G.A. Snowe and Mrs. I.H. Warner of Wynot; two brothers, Reuben Smith of Vale, SD, and William Smith of California, eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 13 step-grandchildren. Among those who came to the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ritter, Mr.and Mrs. Louis Reese, Mr. and Mrs. Errol Warnock, Mrs. Harry Rosenbaum and daughter Ramona of Akron, IA., Mr. and Mrs. Jason Preston of Wayne and a number of friends and relatives from Yankton, Vermillion, Obert and Maskell.
