Whitehorn Dies Monday ---------- Frederick James Whitehorn, 74, a resident of Cedar county the past 41 years, died in Sacred Heart hospital in Yankton Monday night [NOVEMBER 30, 1953]. He had been in poor health several years. Mr. whitehorn had farmed near here until ten years ago when he retired and moved to Hartington. Funeral services for Mr. Whitehorn were held this morning (Thursday) at Holy Trinity Catholic church. Rev. John Farrald officiated at the requiem mass and burial was in St. Michael's cemetery under the direction of Smith's Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Charles Lux, Merton Olson, Joe Bergman, Ed Morten, and Harry and Irvin Lentz. Mr. Whitehorn is survived by his wife, Margaret; a daughter, Mrs. Matt Burgel of Coleridge, and a son, Francis of Hartington. Other survivors include four sisters, three brothers, and 13 grandchildren. Mr. Whitehorn was born at Smithland, Ia, March 7, 1879. He was married in 1905 at Onawa, Ia., to Margaret Gertrude Flynn.
