Wirth, 74, Hartington, died Feb. 7, 2000, at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton, S.D. Memorial services will be Feb. 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington. Anne was born April 4, 1925, to Burgess and Margery (Hopping) Manchester in Omaha. She married Arlo E. Wirth Oct. 10, 1946, in Omaha. Anne grew up in Omaha and graduated from Benson High School. She attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. After her marriage, she and Arlo lived in Kansas City, Mo. then moved to Dunbar where she and Arlo operated the Wirth Family farm. Anne worked for Quentin's Ladies Clothing store in Nebraska City. In 1956 she and Arlo moved to Hartington. She worked for the Consumers Public Power Co. in Hartington for several years. She was also affiliated with her husband in his insurance company in Hartington. She was a member of the Hartington Library Board and Library Foundation for several years; the Future Fantasy Investment Club, Chatter Bid Bridge Club; and a longtime active member of the Hartington Golf Club. Anne and Arlo were friends of the First Congregation U.C.C., Hartington, and the Unitarian Church, Sioux City, Iowa. She was an active supporter of the Democratic Party. She belonged to square dance clubs in Hartington and in Nebraska City. Anne enjoyed aerobic dancing, and loved birds and her dogs and cats. No flowers are requested. Memorials may be sent to The Library Foundation in care of the Hartington Community Foundation. Survivors include her husband, Arlo Wirth, Hartington; adopted son, Carl A. Wirth, Sioux city, Iowa; two brothers and spouses, Miles and Jean Manchester, Vienna, Va., and A.H. "Jack" and Joyce Manchester, Wilmington, Del.; one brother-in-law, Vincent Dworak, Minneapolis, Minn. one sister- in-law and her husband, Lois and John Davia, Homewood, I11., two grandsons and four great-grandchildren.
