WOHLMAN DIES IN ST. LOUIS ---------- Highly Esteemed Woman, Former Resident of This County, Passes Away After Brief Illness ---------- News reached here last Thursday of the death of Miss Agnes Wohlman, an early resident of Cedar County, who died in St. Louis, Mo., on Wednesday, April 21, after a brief illness. Miss Wohlman had made her home with her neice, Mrs. John Lill, for the past three years and was there when her death occurred. Mrs. F.J. Hirschman, another neice, also lives in that city. The late Miss Wohlman was born in Juneau, Wisconsin in 1865 and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Stephen A. Wohlman. In 1878 the Wohlman family in company with the Hirschman family, who lived on an adjoining farm and who were also old neighbors in Germany, came west and settled in Cedar county, near this city. Here the children grew up and here Miss Wohlman lived all her life, in the old home, until the death of her parents, and after they had passed away, she made her home with her brother and sister-in-law, the late Mr. and Mrs. Anton Wohlman, going to Missouri only after the latter's death a few years ago. The late Miss Wohlman was a tenderhearted, sympathetic woman, a thrifty, energtic housekeeper and was ever ready to help her relatives or neighbors in time of need or sickness, and the memory of "Aunt Agnes" will long live in the hearts of those who shared her love and care. The late Miss Wohlman is survived only by one sister, Mrs. N. Peck of Coleridge, one brother, Anthony Wohlman and a sister, Mrs. Jos. Morten, sr., having died in recent years, and one brother and two sisters, Anna and Mrs. T. Wiggins, dying many years ago. Several neices and nephews still live in this county, but many are scattered to distant points. Mrs. Wm. Puntney is a neice and Joe and Steve Wohlman are her nephews. The funeral took place last Friday morning from St. Theresa's Catholic church in St. Louis, and interment was made in Memorial Park cemetery.
