ANDRESEN HERE TWIN BROTHER CECIL INJURED; FUNERAL RITES ON WEDNESDAY Ceasar C. Andresen, 26, was killed instantly and his twin brother Cecil, was painfully injured about noon on Sunday when lightning struck a tree under which the two men were standing at the Cecil Andresen farm near Hartington. Ceasar, who lived at Pickstown, SD., where he was employed on the Fort Randall Dam project was visiting here over the weekend and had gone to the home of his brother, Cecil, where he was helping him repair a binder. A shower of rain came up and the two men took shelter under a nearby tree a short distance from the house. Lightning struck the tree against which both men were leaning, killing Ceasar and injuring his brother. Cecil was unconscious for a short time. He substained painful burns on various parts of his body and was badly stunned. He is making satisfactory recovery and was able to be up and about Wednesday and attended the funeral services for his twin brother. FUNERAL SERVICES Funeral services for Ceasar C. Andresen were held Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock from the August Andresen home west of Coleridge and from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Emerson at 2 o’clock. Rev. O.L. Levorson of Hartington was in charge assisted by Rev. Daniel Schroder. Burial was in the Rosehill Cemetery at Emerson under the direction of Smith Funeral home. Ceasar, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Andresen was born August 19, 1925 at Ainsworth. He came to Hartington with his parents and farmed with his father northeast of Hartington until 1948 when he went to Pickstown, SD., where he was employed on the dam project. He was married to Mary Ann Janssen at Sioux City, June 6, 1948. They had no children. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. August Andresen, three brothers, Albert and Cecil of Hartington, and Edward of Coleridge. A sister, Mrs. Hans Johnson preceded him in death. Among those who attended the funeral here were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Zimmerman, Pickstown, SD., Allen and Leroy Janssen of Freeport, Ill., Herman Janssen of Lanark, Ill., Heiko Janssen, Dixon, Ill., Mrs. George Schrader, Shannon, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Leonard W. Gredd, Duane and Betty, Dick Oorlog, Harold Oorlog and Mrs. George Janssen and family of Avon, SD., Mr. and Mrs. Herman Oorlog, Tyndall SD, Mrs. Reuben Jurczewsky, Sioux Falls, Sd., Lea Asbra, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Johnson and Anna Mae and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Fancisco of South Sioux City; and numerous other relatives and friends from Pickstown, SD., Emerson and other nearby towns.
