Bartling COLERIDGE - Martin H. Bartling, 89, died Dec. 19, 1999, at Park View Haven Nursing Home, Coleridge. Visitation was Dec. 21 at the Wintz Funeral Home, Coleridge. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 22 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Coleridge, with Rev. Norman Sulaica officiating. Burial will be in Lawnridge Cemetery, Coleridge. Pallbearers will be Trent Brunssen, Doyle Brunssen, Calvin Bartling, Troy Bartling, Tyler Bartling and Chad Sokol. Martin was born Jan. 1, 1910, to Wilhelm and Friedericka (Sussick) Bartling. He married Laura Frerichs Feb. 5, 1935, in Coleridge. Martin grew up in Coleridge and was baptized and confirmed at Immmuanel Lutheran Church. He attended Norris School in rural Coleridge. Martin farmed until 1969 and moved into Coleridge. He then worked for the Coleridge Dehy Plant part-time for eight years. He was a member of Logan View School Board, and served on Immanuel Lutheran Church Board and its Building Committee in 1953. He served on the Housing Authority Board, and was on the Board of Directors for the Coleridge Dehy. Survivors include his wife, Laura, Coleridge; three sons and spouses, Dale Bartling, Coleridge; Keith and Lynda Bartling, Coleridge; Bruce and Linda Bartling, Council Bluffs, Iowa; a daughter, Berdine and Harold Brunssen, Belden; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lydia Bartling, Coleridge.
