Bass, 45, died Dec. 26, 1999, at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton, S.D. Visitation was Dec. 28 at the Wintz Funeral Home, Crofton. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Dec. 29 at United Church of Christ Congregational Church, Crofton, with Rev. Gary Kimm officiating. Burial will be in the Crofton City Cemetery, Crofton. Pallbearers will be Timothy Haas, Terrence Haas, Christopher Haas, Joshua Haas, James Sage and Larry D. Ryken. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Haas, Lowell Haas, Kenneth Haas and Duane Sage. Charlene was born June 29, 1954, to Avon A. and Glennys M. (Holtz) Haas in Yankton, S.D. She grew up in Crofton and graduated from Crofton High School in 1972. She married Bruce D. Bass Aug. 30, 1974, in Crofton. After their marriage they had twin sons, Shane and Wayne, Jan. 25, 1977. She worked at Wahoo Public School as a teacher's aide and bus driver. Charlene loved children, her teddy bears, gardening, flowers, and especially family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Bruce Bass, Wahoo; two sons, Shane Bass, Wahoo; Wayne and his fiancee, Julia McDonald, Wahoo; her father, Avon Haas, Crofton; a sister, Shirlene Haas, Rapid City, S.D.; two brothers and spouses, Warren and Monica Haas, Yankton: LaVern and Lorraine Haas, Rapid City, S.D.; nephews and spouse, Timothy and Melody Haas, Yankton, S.D.; Terrence Haas, Yankton, S.D.; Christopher Haas, Rapid City S.D., Joshua Haas, Rapid City, S.D.; and a niece, Jana Haas, Rapid City, S.D.
