He had been ill for some time. Rev. C.M. Grindland officiated at the last rites and burial was in the Maskell cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral home of Hartington. Pallbearers all nephews of Mr. Bishop, were Levi Bishop, Norman Johnson, Dudley Blatchford, Neil Hagen and LeRoy and Raymond Sorenson. A quartette composed of Mrs. Maurice Lund, Mrs. Arlo Nelson, Mrs. Burdette Anfinso, and Mrs. Darrell Nelson sang. Mr. Bishop is survived by his wife, Clara; a daughter, Mrs. Norbert Utecht of Sioux City, two sons, Wendell H. of Norfolk and Claire E. of Cheyenne, Wyo. Two grandchildren, four brothers, Harvey of Eugene, Ore., Lester of Bellflower, CA., and Robert and Everett of Long Beach, CA. and two sisters, Mrs. Florence Beckman of Eugene, OR., and Mrs. Mabel Johnson of Maskell. Mr. Bishop, the son of Wallace and Sarah Jane Bishop was born near Newcastle, July 25, 1884. He was baptized in the Methodist faith at the Turkey Creek Schoolhouse. Mr. Bishop .learned the carpenter trade and did considerable work in the new town of Maskell, where he built his home. He was married here January 28, 1915 to Miss Clara A Johnson. They lived here for several years then moved to the Lime Grove farm south of Maskell, where they lived until a few years ago when they returned to town because of his failing health. All of his children were here for the funeral. Others coming from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Sorensen, LeRoy Sorensen, and Mrs. Mae Blatchford, all of Sioux City, and Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Blatchford of Laurel.
