Brodersen, 64, were held Sunday afternoon at Immanuel Lutheran church here. Pastor Ludwig Scholl officiated. Mr. Brodersen, longtime resident of Cedar county, died January 17 at Methodist hospital in Sioux City. He had been ill a year and a half. Mr. Brodersen is survived by his wife, a son, Oran Brodersen of Coleridge, a daughter, Mrs. Dallas (Marilyn) Hansen of Hartington, three brothers, Adolph Brodersen of Randolph, and Ernest and Herbert Brodersen of Hartington, three sisters, Mrs. Dora Treece of Van Nuys, Calif., Miss Hilda Brodersen and Mrs. Edna McClafin both of Coleridge and nine grand- children. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two children who died in infancy. Jens P. Brodersen was born September 5, 1898, at Wall Lake, Ia., the son of Anton and Anna Brodersen. He came to Cedar county in 1900 with his parents. Mr. Brodersen married Sadie Lentz January 21, 1925, at Hartington. They farmed until 1950 when they retired and moved to Coleridge. Mr. Brodersen was a church trustee and a member of the school board and town board. Burial was in Lawn Ridge cemetery under the direction of the Smith- Richendifer Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Herman Papenhausen, Hans Jorgenson, Carl Hansen, Roy Christiansen, Williams Willms and Walter Frerichs. JANUARY 1963 CEDAR COUNTY NEWS
