Bruening, 76, Yankton, S.D. died Nov. 23, 1999, at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D. Funeral services were Nov. 27 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Yankton with the Rev. Rodney Farke officiating. Burial was in the St. Boniface Parish Cemetery, Menominee. Pallbearers were Matt and PaulWenzlaff, Paul and Aaron Lehmkuhl, Dennis Bruening and Lyle Hoesing. Kathleen was born Dec. 30, 1922, at Menominee to Hubert and Elizabeth (Hoebelheinrich,) Hoesing. She married Edmund Bruening May 18, 1943, and had lived in the St. Helena and Menominee areas most of her life. Her husband died in November 1989. She moved to Yankton in 1992. She is survived by three daughters, Donna and Duane Wenzlaff, Yankton, S.D.; Lois and Howard Lehmkuhl, Ames, Iowa; and Renee and Dan Kramer, Yankton, S.D.; two sons, Ed and Marcia Bruening, Lincoln; and Steve and Beth Bruening, Sioux City, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; two brothers, Arlan Hoesing, Loveland, Colo.; and Dellano Hoesing, Menominee; and two sisters, Verna Schmidt, Crofton; and Marian Heine, St Helena.
