Brunick, 68, who died January 25th at 5:30 pm at Sacred Heart Hospital at Yankton after a lingering illness. Rev. Helmut V. Maedche officiated with prayer at the home at 1:45 pm and services at the church were at 2:00 O’clock. Miss Anita Bottlofson sang two solos with Mrs. Lyle Olson at the piano. Pallbearers were Peter Beyschau, Victor Nelson, Leslie Seeley, Edward Jones, Albert Houg and Oscar Houg. Interment was in the Bow Valley cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home. Henrietta Riebe was born May 2, 1882 on a farm near Bow Valley and the daughter of Charles and Mary (Dahll) Riebe. She attended school at Bow Valley and later at Newcastle after the family had moved near that place. She was married to Ben C. Brunick July 15, 1909 at Ponca and since their marriage 41 years ago, they have made their home in Wynot, with the exception of a few years spent in Portland Ore. Mrs. Brunick was a member of the Methodist Church and always took an active part in church work serving as president of the Ladies Aid for several years and she was president of the cemetery association at the time of her death. Survivors include the husband, one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Redmond of Sioux Falls of Sioux Falls, S.D. and one son Ben C. Brunick Jr. of Sacramento, Calif. The son was ill and in a hospital and was unable to be here. He had visited his mother a short time ago. There are also one brother John Riebe of Sioux City, IA., and three sisters, Mrs. Amelia Beyschau of Hartington, Mrs. Bertha Clemensen of Sioux City, and Minnie Curry of Tacoma, WA., Relatives attending from a distance included Mr. and Mrs. Harry Eckert, Mr. and MRs. Roy Eckert of Sioux Falls, SD., Mrs. A.C. Clemensen, and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mahney, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Clemensen all of Sioux City, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Erickson and the Hansen families from Vermillion, SD., and Mrs. George Curry of Tacoma Wash. Besides other relatives and a host of friends from Hartington, Crofton, Wayne and other towns.
