Services are March 24 at United Lutheran Church, Laurel with Rev. Kenneth Marquardt officiating. Burial is at Laurel Cemetery. Pallbearers are Gary Hoblit, Larry Echtenkamp, Paul Stolpe, Pehrson, Tom Nelson, Mike Hans and Regg Emma Marie Burns, daughter of Herman and Clara (Thomson) Berg, was born Oct. 13, 1920, in Dixon County near Martinsburg. She attended Martinsburg schools and then Clarks Center Country School northeast of Dixon. Emma married Adrian Burns Nov. 29, 1938. The couple began farming near Belden, and later near Obert, where they made their home until 1990 when they moved into Laurel. Emma was a member of United Lutheran Church, Laurel, and was very active in the Ladies Aid. She was also a member of card clubs and enjoyed bowling and quilting. She is survived by her husband, Adrian; three sons and daughters- in-law, Keith and Ann Burns, Sioux City, Iowa; Gary and Linda Burns, Hartington; and Terry and Carol Burns, Newcastle; one daughter, Doreen Dunnihoo, Livermore, Calif.; six grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Joann Berg, Norfolk, and Walt and Ruth Schneider, Dekalb, Texas; one sister, Mildred Foster, Seward; and nieces and nephews.
