Burton HARTINGTON - Lorine C. Burton, 79, Hartington, died May 22, 2001, at Osmond General Hospital, Osmond. Visitation was May 24 at the Wintz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial was May 25 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Coleridge, with Rev. John Andrews and Rev. Ronald Battiato officiating. Burial was in the St. Michael's Cemetery, Coleridge. Pallbearers were Kenny Koch, Fred Kalin, Gerry Thoene, John Brummels, Marcel Arens and Mike Russell. Lorine was born Aug. 27, 1921, to Anton and Elizabeth Mary (Hunteman) Menke in Hartington. She married Lorton Burton Nov. 23, 1955, in Butte. Lorine lived in the Hartington area all of her life. She had been a resident of the Colonial Manor, Randolph, since January 2001. She was a member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church and it's Altar Society, Coleridge; Hartington VFW Post #5283 Auxiliary; and Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Chapter 28, Wayne. She loved to cook, garden and sew. Survivors include her husband, Lorton, Randolph; one daughter, Lori Burton, Hartington; one sister, Anna Marie Babcock, Crofton; and one brother, Leander Menke, O'Neill. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Carl and Urban Menke; and two sisters, Rita Menke and Olga Thoene.
