J. CHAMBERLAIN DIES AT BLOOMFIELD BURIAL WAS IN BOW VALLEY CEMETERY WEDNESDAY; ALSO LIVED AT CROFTON, ST. HELENA Mrs. Jess Chamberlain, 70, who died at the home of her daughter in Bloomfield, Monday, July 10, was buried in the Bow Valley cemetery at Wynot Wednesday morning. Funeral services were held from the Catholic Church at Bloomfield, after which the funeral procession came to Wynot where a short service was held at Sacred Heart and burial in the public cemetery, with Rev. Fr. Van Veen officiating. Pallbearers were Clarence and Fred Chamberlain, Lewis Chamberlain, Charles Prescott, Niles Viles and Herman Suketoff. Mrs. Chamberlain before her marriage was Emma Mirer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Mirer, early settlers of St. Helena. Born February 10, 1869 at St. Helena. She was one of a family of nine sisters, of which only one, Mrs. Elmer Perry of Los Angeles is now living. Being in poor health for several years and almost bedfast, for the past year she was cared for at home by her daughter, Mrs. Renee Prescott. Mr. Chamerlain has been a patient at St. Joseph Hospital in Sioux City the past three weeks, He was not able to attend his wife's funeral. Mrs. Chamberlain was a former resident of St. Helena and this vicinity, she and her husband, having operated a hotel in St. James for several years where Mr. Chamberlain also had a blacksmith shop. She also lived in South Dakota a time and for 23 years was a resident of Crofton, the last few years being spent at Bloomfield. Mrs. Chamberlain was a charter member of the Wynot camp of Royal Neighbors having joined that organization when it was started at St. James nearly 40 years ago. Surviving are the widower, two sons Fred of Tuthill, SD., Clarence of Bloomfield and one daughter Mrs. Renee Prescott of Bloomfield. Also one sister Mrs. Elmer Perry of Los Angeles. Besides relatives and friends from Bloomfield and other towns a niece, Mrs. Joe Duman and her son Milo from Gettsburg, SD., were present at the funeral. Also the Ed and George Lee families of St. Helena.
