Chapman, 81, Coleridge, died Oct. 10, 1998, at Park View Haven Nursing Home, Coleridge. Memorial Services were Oct. 12 at Wintz Funeral Home, Coleridge, with the Rev. Henry Vieth officiating. Gordon was born Jan. 12, 1917 to Wade and Drea (Andersen) Chapman in Randolph. He graduated from Randolph High School in 1934. He searved in the U. S. Army Air Corps three years, mostly in Panama, and was discharged Nov. 19, 1945. He married Janet Prawit Feb. 14, 1945, in Randolph. They then moved to Ithaca, N.Y.; in 1990, and then to Charlotte, N.C. His wife died in Charlotte Jan. 21, 1995. He moved to Coleridge in August 1996 and entered Park View Haven Nursing Home in August 1998. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Randolph, the Randolph V. F. W. and was a 50 year member of the Masons. He is survived by his mother-in-law, Jane Prawit, Belmont, Iowa; two sons, Terry and his wife Leigh, Charlotte, N.C.; Kirby and his wife, Jeanne, York; four daughters, Linda and her husband, David harrings, Council Bluffs, Iowa; Donna Chapman-Grasso, Americus, Ga.; Janet Willems, Charlotte, N.C. Patty Jane and her husband, Jay Murphy, Jacksonville, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; Jennifer Van Haute Omaha; Emily Watson, Denver, Colo.; Chad Chapman, York; Ryan Chapman, Marquette; John and Janee Harrings, Council Bluffs, Iowa; Christopher and Andrea Grasso, Americus, Ga.; Jessica and Justin Willems, Charlotte, N.C.; and a special friend Violet Milander, Coleridge.
