Funeral services were held at the Family Funeral Care Center, Denver. Burial was at Fort Logan Military Cemetery, Denver. Military services were held with an All Honors Military Guard. Aaron was born March 28, 1928, to Peter and Esther (Swanson) Colling at Randolph. He attended grade school, north of Randolph and graduated from Hartington High School in 1945. He served 2 years in the U.S. Army, including 1 year in Korea. He received the Korean Service Star Medal, two bronze Service Stars, and the United Nations Service Medal. He farmed near Hartington and then worked for the Department of Interior with the Bureau of Reclamation in Denver at the Federal Center. He retired in 1986 and did volunteer work for the Jefferson County Open Space Program. He also belonged to the Colorado Hiking Club. He is survived by two brothers, David and Joan Colling, Hartington, and Vincent Colling, Houma, La.; one sister, Judith and Gary Morten, Lisle, Ill.; five nieces and nephews and 13 grand nieces and nephews.
