Visitation was July 29 at the Wintz Funeral Home, Coleridge. Services were July 30 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Coleridge, with Rev. Norman Sulaica and Rev. David Daumer officiating. Burial was in Lawn Ridge Cemetery, Coleridge. Pallbearers were Mark Barber, Dean Dirks, Michael Kelly, Aaron Bailie, Ryan Barber and Don Hahne. Irma was born June 3, 1912, to Martin and Freda (Olhorst) Marthwig in Laurel. She married Arthur F. Dirks Sept. 8, 1931. He died June 29, 1953. Irma was baptized in June of 1912 and confirmed July 4, 1926. She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Coleridge. She attended school in the Coleridge area, and was employed at Ray's Grocery Store, Coleridge, until retirement. She participated in many church groups and activities through the years. She also enjoyed playing cards with friends, quilting and spending time with grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She moved to Orange City, Iowa, in April 2001. Survivors include a son and his spouse, Duane Arthur and Yvonne Dirks, Fontana, Calif.; a daughter and her spouse Barbara Jenon and Bill Greiner, Orange City, Iowa; four grandchildren and their spouses, Debbie and Mark Barber, Gilbert, Ariz.; Dean Dirks, Loma Linda, Calif.; Melissa and Michael Kelly, Orange City, Iowa; and Jenon and Aaron Bailie, Maple Grove, Minn.; four great-grandchildren: Ryan Barber, Tayler and Spencer Kelly and Briana Bailie; and a sister, Shirley Andrews, Fremont. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Arnold Marthwig; an infant grandson, and a great-grandson.
