COLERIDGE - Marie Dirks, 90, died March 9, 1999, at Park View Haven 
Nursing Home, Coleridge.

Visitation was March 10 at Wintz Funeral Home, Coleridge.

Services were March 11, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Coleridge, with 
Rev. Norm Sulaica officiating.

Burial was in Lawn Ridge Cemetery, Coleridge.

Pallbearers were Orlyn Frerichs, Dori Heitman, Gordon Janssen, George 
V. Hefner, Bob Hansen and Chad Frerichs.

Marie grew up in Coleridge and graduated from Coleridge High School in 
1924. She graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1928. She taught 
school in Coleridge for six years. She also taught school in Sioux City, 
Iowa, and Fargo, N.D., before moving to Normal, Ill., Where she taught 
school and furthered her education, receiving a doctorate degree. She 
taught at the University of Ohio, Columbus, for 20 years. She retired 
in 1973,and moved to Sioux City.

She has been a resident of Park View Haven Nursing Home in Coleridge 
since 1992.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Survivors include several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Kathyrn Dirks.
