Wynot Tribune 8-24-1916 Death of Frank Donnelly Frank E. Donnelly died at his home in South Sioux City Monday morning, August 21, after an acute illness of several months. Mr. Donnelly was born at Niobrara, this state about fifty-two years ago. His early life was spent on the plains of the Dakota and Nebraska, where he followed the cattle business to a great extent. He also was connected with steam boating on the Missouri River for a number of years and was well known from the head of the that stream in Montana down toward Kansas City. He was a man of great energy and large ability. He had a faculty for making money, but had no desire to accumulate wealth. He was free hearted and generous to a fault. Mr. Donnelly was one of the first to engage in business in Wynot, where he conducted a saloon until two years ago, when he removed to Obert to engage in the same business. He resided there until a few days ago, when he removed with his wife to South Sioux City. He leaves a wife, and one brother at Springfield, S.D., besides a large number of other relatives. The immediate cause of Mr. Donnelly’s death was dropsy of the heart, with complications. The remains were shipped to Springfield, S.D., Tuesday, burial being had in the family lot at that place on Wednesday.
