Dresden, 71, of Hartington died Tuesday, Nov. 12, in Sacred Heart Hospital at Yankton of complications following surgery. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, in Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Hartington with the Rev. Cyril Werner officiating. Burial was in St. Michael's Cemetery at Hartington under the direction of the Wintz Funeral HOme. He was born Sept. 9, 1903, at Sioux City, Iowa to Henry and Margaret (Burns) Dresden. On Feb. 28, 1938, he married Rose Ann Becker at Fordyce. Mr. Dresden was the owner and operator of Hartington Hatchery until retiring six years ago. Survivors include his widow; three sons, Patrick of Long Beach, Calif., Robert of Grinnell, Iowa; and Timothy of Hartington; one daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Sally) Bump of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; five grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. William Hirschman of Coleridge, Mrs. Roman Dreesen of Hartington, and Mrs. Edmund Becker of Fordyce. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 1974 - CEDAR COUNTY NEWS William Dresden HARTINGTON - William R. Dresden, 71, Hartington, died Nov. 12 of injury suffered in a hunting accident. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington. The Rev. Cyril Werner will officiate and burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery. Rosary will be recited 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Thursday in Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington. Mr. Dresden was born Sept. 9, 1903, Sioux City to the Henry Dresdens. He married Rose A. Becker Feb. 28, 1938, in Fordyce. He was the owner of Hartington Hatchery retiring six years ago.
