Eskins, 44, died Oct. 22, 1998, at Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls S.D. Visitation was Oct. 25 at the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington. A vigil service was held later that evening, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wynot. Funeral services were Oct. 26, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wynot, with Rev. Jay Kruse officiating. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Wynot. Pallbearers were Joe Grubbels, Jerry Grubbels, John Grubbels, James Grubbels, Jeff Birger, and Brian Bonertz. Honorary Pallbearers were Terry and Joan Foxhoven, Mike and Julie Hans, Dan and Rose Koch, and LeRoy and Sally Beste. Cindy was born April 3, 1954, to Alphonse "Bud" F. and Gertrude M. (Boecker) Schieffer in Constance. She married John W. Eskins May 10, 1975, in Crofton. She grew up in Crofton and graduated from Crofton High School in 1972. She held several jobs in Yankton and the surrounding area. She was most currently employed at the Green Diamond, St. James. She has been a resident of Wynot since 1976. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wynot; the Altar Society; Northeast Nebraska Cursillo Movement; and the Wynot Booster Club. She was an avid baseball and Nebraska Husker fan. Survivors include her husband, John, Wynot; three children, Jason and his wife, Misty Eskins, Yankton, S.D.; Josh Eskins, Wynot; Jessica Eskins, Wynot; a brother and six sisters and their spouses, Gary and Pam Schieffer, Osmond; Jo and Mike Kerns, Sioux Falls, S.D.; Gladys a nd Butch Leise, Wynot; Claudette and Emery Wiepen, St. Helena; Debbie and Brian Wieblehaus, Crofton; and Sharon and Les Oien, Yankton, S.D.; a granddaughter, Rachael Eskins, Yankton, S.D.; and many neices and nephews.
