This file was contributed for use in the NEGenWeb Archives by Carol Tramp ====================================================================== THE CEDAR COUNTY NEWS - 5-25-1922 Engineer Flegg dead William Flegg, engineer of afternoon passenger died suddenly at Crofton William Flegg, the engineer on the afternoon train thru Hartington suddenly dropped dead at his home at Crofton last Saturday morning. His death was caused by a hemmorage of the brain. He was engaged in repairing his car in his garage just half an hour before he was to take his train out, when death occurred. Mr. Flegg was one of the best known men on the Crofton branch, and had a host of friends in every town along the line. He had been an engineer on this branch for the past six years and the news of his sudden death came as a shock to all who knew him. William Henry Flegg was born at Emerson on April 24, 1882, being at the time of his death 40 years and 26 days old. He was united in marriage on June 23, to Miss Anna McEntaffer of Emerson, and they made their home in Sioux City, until he was transferred to the Crofton branch six years ago. He had worked twenty years of the M & O at the time of his death.
