GREGG APRIL 1943 Funeral services were held in Vermillion yesterday for Mrs. Mary Brown Gregg, 72, mother of Oder, Clarence and John of this city. Mrs. Gregg, a resident of this city for the last 30 years coming here from Vermillion had been in failing health during the winter months, but was taken suddenly ill and admitted to Sacred Heart hospital Tuesday night where she passed away Wednesday. Seven of eight children in the family survive: they are six sons, Jess of Wynot, Ray of Vermillion, George stationed in Alaska., Clarence, Oder and John of Yankton; one daughter, Goldie Sheperdson of Kelso Wash. Two half-brothers, Phillip Brown and Archie Brown, two half-sisters Mrs. Bill Driver of Vermillion and Mrs. Sam Hansen of Yankton, a brother-in-law, Knute Iverson. Twenty-five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gregg was born in Alberta Pembroke, Canada December 22, 1870 to Robert and Mariah Horton Brown. She was married to Samuel Gregg on January 1, 1888 at Vermillion, and he preceded her in death a year ago April 2, 1942.
